Germany work Visa application process for Pakistani Citizens 2024-2025




If you are interested in living and working in Germany here you can follow five simple steps to guide you through the visa application process.

1: Calculate and Determine your visa category

First, you need to determine your visa category which is the best option for you. To calculate Please consult the visa guide/the visa navigator to calculate the visa category which you should apply for or must visit the German mission website or information will be shared as under.
2: Your visa application Preparation
It would help if you chose the correct visa category on this website as given below to prepare your visa application accordingly.

3: Registration for/booking of an appointment

Estimated waiting time for an appointment at the Embassy in Islamabad:

1 - Two months for EU Blue Card

2 - Three months for Skilled Workers

3 - Three months for Vocational Training

4 - One year for Jobseeking visa ( Opportunity Card )

5 - Two months for a Research visa

6 - Three months for Freelancing, Self-Employment

7 - Three months for Voluntary Service

8 - Three months for Voluntary Service

9 - One month for Recognition Measure for a Foreign Qualification

If you Participate in the fast-track procedure for skilled workers and get pre-approval under section 81aact for Residence by Foreigners Authority the waiting time will reduced to three weeks ( Please do not apply for pre-approval under the section 36 Employment Ordinance of Federal Employment Agency). For this case register on the special waiting list for an appointment.

Please book/register an application appointment at the German mission which is responsible for your visa application.

People living in Islamabad Capital Territory, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Jammu, and Kashmir can register for an appointment at the German Embassy in Islamabad.

People living in Sindh or Balochistan can register for an appointment at the German Consulate General Karachi.
Please be aware if you book/ register for the wrong visa category or the wrong mission your application will be turned away and will not be accepted on your appointment day. In this case, you will have to book/register for a new appointment in the correct visa category and mission.

4: Your application Submission

ON your application day Please make sure to bring your all required documents along with you.

5: Waiting time for your visa

After your visa application appointment please don't inquire about your visa application before two months be patient. You will be notified as soon as your visa application has been processed to receive back your passport.

1 - Visa Category

2 - EU Blue Card

At first glance, the main requirements that need to be met are:

1 - You have a valid employment contract with a German firm/company.

2 - You have a university degree recognized in Germany (according to the Annaben database or similar description).

3 - Your university degree is relevant to what you want.

Meet one of the following requirements:

1 - Your annual income will be at least 43,800 EUR (2023) / 45,300 EUR (2024).

2 - Your annual income must be at least 39,682.80 EUR (as of 2023) / 41,041.80 EUR (as of 2024) and you must have completed your university degree within the last few years.

3 - Your annual salary will be at least 39,682.80 EUR (until 2023) / 41,041.80 EUR (until 2024) and you will be working in a niche field (e.g. IT or STEM). We provide a list of prohibited companies.

Employment for Skilled Workers Holding a University Degree (NO EU Blue Card)


1 - You have a valid employment contract with a German firm/company.

2 - You have a university degree recognized in Germany (according to the Annaben database or a comparative statement).

Employment for Skilled Workers with Vocational Qualification

1 - You have a valid employment contract with a German firm/company.

2 - You have a professional qualification recognized by the German competent authorities.

Vocational Training

1 - You must have a valid vocational training contract with a German firm/company.

2 - Your German language level is B1 CEFR.

Opportunity Card (Job seeking)

1 - You hold a degree from a recognized university in Germany (according to the Annaben database or similar description).

2 - I have enough financial resources of €1,027 per month to cover my expenses in Germany.

3 - You have enough financial resources to purchase a return ticket to Pakistan worth €500.

Research

1 - Have a hosting or employment contract with a German research institution

2 - I have enough financial resources of €1,027 per month to cover my expenses in Germany.

Self-Employment, Freelancing

1 - Your business idea makes economic sense or meets local needs and is expected to have a positive impact on the German economy.

2 - There are personal capital and loans available to make your business idea a reality.

Voluntary Service

1 - You have entered into a valid contract with a volunteer service provider in Germany.

Au-Pair

1 - You have a valid Au Pair contract with your host family in Germany.

2 - Your host family is not from Pakistan and has children under the age of 18. You have no family ties.

3 - Applicant age must be between 18 to 27 years.

Employment for Specialty Cook

1 - Must have a valid employment contract with a Pakistani restaurant in Germany

2 - You have 6 years of professional experience as a Pakistani chef.

3 - I never canceled it in Germany.

4 - Your German level is A1 CEFR.

Recognition Measure for a Foreign Qualification


1 - You have an evaluation memo from the German competent authority ("Defizitbescheid", "Zwischenbescheid").

2 - I found a suitable qualification course in Germany.

3 - Your German level is A2 CEFR.

Employment for IT Specialists with Work Experience

1 - Have more than 3 years of working experience in the IT field.

2 - Your German level is B1 CEFR.

3 - Your annual income will be at least €52,560 (2023)/€54,360 (2024).
